In a city void of major tourist attractions and thus tourists, the Fish Market is your best bet if you feel like mingling with travelers. The big attraction there is shopping your fish & seafood and have it prepared in one of the little restaurants. After walking this city so spread out we chose to invest in a Tuk Tuk to take us around. A great decision! Another great restaurant we discovered is Restaurante Mia Tigale, set in a beautiful park in Avenida Vladimir Lenin.
One evening we passed an art market featuring a culinary event, the perfect occasion to sample Mozambiquean food accompanied by numerous Maracuja Caipirinhas. Can this be topped? Yes, it can! Mozambique’s superstars Ivo Mahel chatted with us and Heidi proudly features on a photo with him…
A stroll through the fancy Polana district brought into the most luxurious Polana Serena Hotel, where we sipped a coffee in a quiet garden facing the ocean deep down. Yeap, Maputo remains a favorite!
